After learning this project step by step I have gained a great understanding of what it takes to make a great time-lapse. First it takes finding a good area where its less populated so no one gets in your shot and also taking the time out of your dating to do it. The hardest part about the whole project is having to be patient and trusting yourself that its positioned well. It also depends how long you are willing to sit and wait till the whole process is over but after its all over the timelapse are breathe taking. After many attempts of creating a GIF this has probably been the most difficult project to follow, atleast for me. I created this GIF in photoshop and it took me quite some time to get the steps right , with a gif depending on how long it is you take a certain amount of photos, for this image I took six and after each phot I backed up a step and zoomed my lens more and that how I was able to get her to come closer in the GIF.
Eduardo, Class of 2019, Happy Darkness
This is a picture of a skull that I believed was smiling with dead flowers behind it. I titled it "Happy death" because the skull is smiling and there is flowers in the back representing happiness but what makes it dark is the skull and the fact that the flowers are dead. I chose to have the photo black and white to she to meanings of darkness and happiness, I used photoshop to edit this photo. I chose to do a sports related magazine because I enjoy reading and going through sports magazines like ESPN, Sports illustrated, College Football, etc. I tried to emulate a magazine cover from ESPN about a D1 football player. The font style I used for my magazine was Birch std, but I also used a "Mexican" font to put my last name and represent my culture. I want to be in the career of sports because I know a lot about sports and I enjoy all kinds of sports, football has always been my passion since I was a young child and will never stop being my passion.
For this project I used wallpapers that had LED lighting so the background really pops out. The aperture priority was f5.3, ISO 200. The setup for the first photo was a LED Chinese dragon, I wanted alot of lines and colors to blow up the background and his face has all kinds of lights on him. For the second photo I went for a simpler photo using a grape juice cup spilling out of the cup, therefore for this photo I made sure the spilling juiced looked like it was spilling on him . For the final photo I used a gaming controller with neon lights.
For the fill my head project I wanted to put things that represent me and what I love. The first step to creating the fill your head project was looking for my images, so I googled everything that is a part of me and my life. Next I used the magic wand tool to edit my face blank and therefore took the next steps to adding another layer to insert the images I found on google. After I inserted my photos I cropped them to make sure you can see everything and it all fits well with my head and body. Finally after filling my head I made sure to change the background from green to black so the colors were neutral.
With this image I wanted to have a clean background so therefore I chose to have my partner Julius create different poses. I made sure he wore something bright in order to really stand out when I create the photo sequence. After that I took all my photos to photoshop where I merged them all together giving them each layers so I can lasso them each and put them together. I really liked this photo because we were able to be creative in each pose.
signature shot My dad drives at least 2 hours to and back to LA everyday with barely no days off. He works about 18 hours a day and runs with little sleep. - closeup He takes a lot of medication for his back pain and other injuries that have occurred throughout his 15 years of working there.- establishing He barely has time to make his own lunch so he makes something in the microwave just because he is in a rush.- freeshot taking this medication is what keeps him up and alive.- clincher
For my photograph I wanted to capture a one on one with the subject to capture the creepy feel to it. The way I created this image was by having my subject turn his body but keep his head strait and tilt it down. After that I used a blue filter to take with the photo and messed with the lighting by adding another darker filter and start to erase the background to give it a blur. I wanted the audience to see a bit of his face to give it a creepy man look, I brightened the exposure on his face and darkened the shadows, also lowering the contrast as well.
